STEPHEN REA was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and trained at the Abbey Theatre School. Rea formed the Field Day Theatre Company with playwrights Brian Friel and Seamus Heaney, bringing theatre to rural communities across Ireland. Broadway: Someone Who'll Watch Over Me. With director Neil Jordan, collaborated on the films Angel (1982), The Company of Wolves (1984), The Crying Game (Academy Award nomination, BAFTA nomination), Interview with the Vampire, 1996's Michael Collins, and 1997's The Butcher Boy. Other films include Cry of the Banshee (1970), Robert Altman's Ready to Wear; with Mike Leigh, Four Days in July and Life Is Sweet (1991); This is My Father (1998), the comedy spoof Still Crazy (1998), the thriller In Dreams, Audrey Wells' Guinevere, I Could Read the Sky in Ireland, and the adaptation of Graham Greene's The End of the Affair.
